Say Cheese!

When you're on the road for days at a time, you sometimes have to take a moment to pull over and smell the cheddar.

Heading North on Interstate 94 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, I can hear Mars Cheese Castle calling my name. What cheese lover could resist this Camelot dedicated to Wisconsin's best since 1947?

The cases are filled with every variety of aged cheese ...

I even discover tasty Wisconsin Cheese curd, an excellent snack for the journey ahead.

Just dub me Sir Extra Sharp.

The hardest thing about being on the road and coming upon a wonderful cheese shop (or farmers market) is that you can't really buy more than you can eat right at that moment; no stashing cheese in your suitcase to bring home as a souvenir. Hats, on the other hand, travel very well indeed.

Cheddar Cheese Curd? Does it taste different, or is it just a textural thing? This reminds me of driving through Kentucky -- you could get drunk off the air.

I think, instead of a sweet tooth, I have a cheese tooth. Make my extra sharp also.

Looks like a very fun place. I know someone from Wisconsin, when they moved here to Ca. they were surprised they couldn't get cheese curds here.

How fun! I would have picked extra sharp too!The other ones don't have much flavor.
Hey what in the world are you wearing on your head?

Taste of B - Why, it's a cheesehead, of course! It's a well-known head gear in Wisconsin!

Julia - The cheese curd has kind of a squeaky-clean texture. Very childlike and appealing!
